Biking and Rebuilding

Ended up being so bored during this COVID time, I bought a used bike and rebuilt it. I know, I know. But I learned a lot.

I decided to buy a used bike. Take it apart to paint it instead of paying $200-300. What I failed to realize, how much of a challenge it would be. Found out some my parts are old, rusted, or won’t come off. The first thing was sanding the bike down - by hand. Six hours later, I was mostly done. The second day my dad looked at me and said, “I have a sander machine.” With a strong death stare, I grabbed the sander and did the most I could to get the corners I couldn’t get to. Then came the paint. It was a whole process. Next was putting in my bike to put my bike together.

After a few days, I finally got my bike back. I stripped it, sanded it down, painted it, washed it, and took it in to get the brakes and cables fixed; even got a new cable color. I want to give a shout out to Benji at @theoaklandbikery who was super patient with me and gave me a ton of advice. THANK YOU! Oh, and if you wanted to see the process see below.
