General Meetings and and Film Festivals
It’s been a wild summer. Film Festivals and general meetings at production companies. I’m so glad to be alive and writing in this pandemic.
The first hit that our little film got this summer, was @houseofballsfilm screened at the @oakvillefestivals closing night. There were a lot of great films, and I can say again, our film went across the state border to CANADA!! 🖐🏾 Hey there 😁 Also there was a q&a afterwards with the directors of other shorts. It was quite amazing to be amongst one other person of color in the group of directors on the zoom panel.
Next up was the Hip Hop Film Festival. The @hiphopfilmfestnyc was quite a surprise, they did amazing things for being an online film festival and I’m so thankful they had us. They were definitely worth the time and money. I can’t wait until their festival is in person. If you have a film, ENTER INTO THEIR FESTIVAL. Shout out to Aaron Lee Dowell ( @ecto18489) our DP, and Tiffany Beacham (@itsyagirltb) one of our Producers/AD for answering questions for our little private showing of our film. It was fun.
Literally the next day we were in the Woven Colors Film Festival @thewovencolors. Of course there was another Q&A, and we were happy to be in a festival hosted by women of color.
Currently I’m working in the writers room for POWER Book II: Ghost. I’m pitching new projects for different companies and finding time to ride my bike lol.
One other promotion -Last night “Lovecraft Country” premiered last night. Three years later and you all finally get to see it onscreen, including the writers room team. Hope you enjoyed it got scared a little. HA!
