Roxbury International Film Festival

Oh man, I had a time last ni…I mean, I had a time last month. I attended the Roxbury International Film Festival on behalf of the cast and crew. I’d never been there and I definitely found out quick it’s a college town, city… shoot state. Hot off the plane, I didn’t get to see the Celtics Parade. The Boston Celtics had won two nights before and I anticipated a full crowded airport and loud/drunk people. To my surprise, by 4pm the streets were cleaned, swept, polished and there were no loud/drunk people to be found.

Ubered to the MFA Boston museum for my screening and to meet my host Andrea, one of the festival volunteers who was letting me stay at her place. I had two hours to watch a feature at the festival before my screening, “Shorts: Relationships.” There were a great group of shorts that went along with “Worth It.” After the screening we didn’t go straight home, we went to the after party at the bar that had karaoke. Child, we were out until 1a. But I had a grand ole time, you hear me?

Now that we screened, I could enjoy the rest of the festival. The next 5 days I spent watching shorts, documentaries and features. They were all so different but really great I may say. I went to a couple more after parties set up by the festival, the volunteers and the Roxbury chair really did a great job this year. I know this was first, but it won’t be my last!

Yes, I did do some sightseeing and went on the infamous duck tour around Boston with this tour guide. Her name was Flo and she was hilarious.

Here’s a quick little recap of my time at the festival.
