Poppy Jasper International Film Festival April 9 - 17, 2024

Last month “Worth It“ screened at the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival in Gilroy, California, South Bay Area. We screened April 11th (Thursday) at 6pm THE DISTRICT THEATER – GILROY. We screened alongside the amazing feature @IsabelsGardenfilm. Please see that film when it’s released. It’s so well done. I got to talk a little bit about “Worth It” and made a few people laugh about the backstory.

That Friday and Saturday I got to hang with fellow filmmakers at the Mimosa Brunch and Breakfast. I’m hoping to keep in touch with them.

My final night was at the awards show. It was such a great night at the ceremony. A few of the filmmakers I met won an award. Although we didn’t leave with anything, we left with a few new friends. Thank you to @poppyjasperiff for having us.…also our director said “I’m leaving here with something!!” See the slide with the toy award in my hand…it was found at the Poppy bash 🥇 good enough for us 😂🥰😎

I’m so grateful to Mattie and Shawna for helping me find housing with one of the volunteers, Linda. Her name is the same as my mom’s, I couldn’t forget a name like that! :) She was so amazing and welcoming, and even the volunteers made me feel extra special during my time at the festival.

Nevertheless, as I reflect on my time at the festival I hope you consider it as a place to submit your film.
