Flashback to U-N-I webseries

I started thinking about my time in graduate school. Your girl was hungry as hell to create. Webseries were a big deal and I wanted to make a docuseries instead.

I found out about this rap group called “U-N-I“ from Los Angeles. Basically I stalked them and persuaded them to let me follow them. Four episodes later and money spent traveling to and from their sets, video shoots and other things - I quit. Many times I was finagling my way to get inside the concert for free without paying AND getting my little camera inside as well. But since I was doing everything out my own pocket with no money really, was still a full-time student and student worker, I stopped doing it. Plus, they never promoted the series.

That was the end.

Honestly I can say I had hella fun. The chase. Learning FinalCutPro VFX tricks. Just being creative outside of class - it was a rush.

The group disbanded but I still have these moments to remember the good times. here’s my favorite episode I directed, edited, and shot… and the last one.
